Can I mount this on the surface of a wall? Can I install a light in the niche? Can I install this in a plaster wall?
Can I mount this on the surface of a wall? We certainly don't recommend it. It would have to look strange from the side, and you'd really be paying for a lot of craftsmanship you don't want or need. Can I install a light in the niche? This shouldn't be much of a problem if your good with the right tools. Assuming your walls are built with studs on 16" centers, you should have plenty of room to run the necessary wiring. Can I install this in a plaster wall? Sure you can. Would I recommend it? Not unless you have the right tools (some type of power saw) and you're good with them. For that type of installation I'd hire someone to do it for me. Check out my installation page.
